Alok Verma who was removed from the post of Chief of the CBI
In a letter to DoPT secretary Mr. Chandramouli, Alok Verma has said that he was not given a chance to clean before removing him from the CBI post. Alok Verma has said that the principles of natural justice have been neglected in this entire process.
Alok Verma said that the selection committee did not take care of the fact that the full report of CVC is based on the statement of the person whose own investigation is being done by the CBI itself.
On October 23, 2018, the Central Government had sent Alok Verma for forced leave, when his fight with the number two Rakesh Asthana in the CBI became public. The fight between the number 1 and the number two in the CBI was about the collision of power and vitality.
Alok Verma had alleged corruption against his deputy Rakesh Asthana, whereas Rakesh Asthana complained to the government and said that his boss was involved in corruption.
