ODI series: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced Team India for three ODIs against Australia and five ODIs and three Twenty20 matches against New Zealand. Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been included in the team for the three series.
The team’s command will be in the hands of Virat Kohli. Against Australia Twenty20 series: Mahendra Singh Dhoni was not picked up Thakvirat and Dhoni.
Board wants to give Dhoni more opportunities before the World Cup
On condition of anonymity, a BCCI official said, “The team management wants Dhoni to play as many matches as possible before the World Cup next year.” The one-day series against Australia will start from January 12 and the New Zealand tour will also be completed on February 10.
He told that in almost a month Mahendra Singh Dhoni will get 11 international matches. After the tour of New Zealand, the Australia team will tour India. Australia will play five ODIs and two T20 matches. After this, the Indian team will play in the World Cup.
Hardik Pandya was also selected for the three series.
Due to the back problem, Hardik Pandya, who did not play in the ODI series against the West Indies, has also been included in the ODI series against Australia. He has also been selected in the 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty-20 series against New Zealand.
