For many days, Poonam Sinha had been discussing joining the SP. With this, he has been announced to stand against the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the Lucknow constituency. Rajnath files nomination

Poonam himself is Sindhi. In the past, SP’s national president Akhilesh Yadav and Shatrughan Sinha met Poonam in the meeting. Shatrughan’s condition was that the Congress did not even contest candidates against Poonam. Shatrughan is now in Congress They hope that they will convince the Congress. Rajnath, the current MP and BJP candidate from Lucknow, has filed nomination on Tuesday. So far neither the Congress nor the SP have been able to determine their candidate against him. Both the teams are looking for a strong contender against them.

Rajnath got 54 percent votes in 2014- (Poonam Sinha)

However defeating Rajnath with Lucknow would not be so easy for the opposition. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Rajnath got 54.28 percent votes. Rita Bahuguna Joshi of Congress, who stood second, got 27.89 percent votes. BSP’s Nakula was at number three with 6.23 percent votes, while Abhishek Mishra of SP was at number four with 5.49 percent votes. Now if the percentage of votes of these three is also added, then it only sits at 39.61 percent, which is much less than votes received by Rajnath. In this case, the math of the common candidate is not even seen.
